We were a large group and had some great food and cocktails. My medium rare steak came out great. I love that they put this mixture of seeds on the rice and veggies. Our servers were great and attentive. They added 20% gratuity to our check and 2.9% for administrative fee... I wasn't expecting the extra fees

The service by Reed was great. The entertaining Hibachi chef was very good. The meat was very tender and well cooked. We did have a long wait as it was Mother's day and Prom night too.

My all-time favorite Hibachi restaurant! Been with them since the old building. Admittedly, the service varies as employees come/go, and the food is rather consistent, but of course also varies some as cooks come/go. Parking is always kind of a headache, and the waiting area is painfully small. Despite all this it's always such a treat, and I always look forward to my next visit!

Let me preface my review by saying I've been to Hibachi Japan when it was at a different location on front Street years ago and I've been to this new location semi new whatever a couple times. The food is always really good. My only gripe would be that they seem to be short on chefs quite a lot like I went there 2 years ago and they were short-staffed as far as cooks and they were short-staffed again. So you have to wait a while for them to come to your table and cook your food. So you might be working on soup and salad for a good 30 minutes to an hour, which I think is kind of ridiculous. Especially since there's not really anything else to do there. Or if you have kids with you, they get impatient and there's not really anywhere for them to roam. It's not a kid-friendly environment. Understandable. It's a Hibachi. So yeah food was great young servers but they're also really good. Attentive Kathy orders right checked back brought boxes. I don't like that. Even if you come with a party of five or six you still have to wait for a table sometimes because they want to get as many people at a table as possible. I get it, I just don't like it. It is what it is. I was a Hibachi server so I understand. My only other thing that was negative would be that the plates were all like dirty. They had greasy fingerprints on them. I had to get out wet wipes and clean our plates off because we didn't want to be those weird customers. That said, all our plates were dirty but because it's so dark in there you can't really tell until you hold them under the light and it looked like they were literally like wiped off or rinsed off and then touched with greasy fingers all day kind of gross. Also, our chef was kind of sarcastic which I don't mind sarcasm but my mom's 72 and it kind of felt like he was making fun of her at one point which I didn't like and not in a funny way. Lastly, my only other thing would be when they do the rice and veggies and they split them on all the plates. Literally my husband got like the smallest amount of veggies out of everybody to the point that it was barely like two spoonfuls which was kind of annoying because he got the most expensive plate there. So I gave them overall a good reading because the food was great. The service was great and there's some things they can't help. Like if they're short-staffed you know I'm sure they're trying but the plates need to be clean. There's not really an excuse for that. I worked for as a server for many years at Hibachi as well as many different other places and our first thing was we had to go around and check glasses, silverware and plates at our settings to make sure everything was polished and wiped down and it doesn't seem like they do that. But again, they have a very young staff, so you know maybe they're short-staffed and they're doing the best they can. Overall, great experience.

Overall a great experience. Hibachi is about having fun and being entertained while also having a fantastic meal. I had the scallops and ribeye steak which were cooked perfectly. The wait time was moderate for a Wednesday night, I want to say it was around 25 minutes but you have to remember you are going to be there for an hour plus just going through each course and then watching the magic happen during the cooking showmanship. Overall it was a lot of fun along with a tasty meal.
